Seneca County Support Group  – SALSA – Seneca Autism Learning & Support Association meets  the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm

Their mission is to bring awareness to Seneca County and the surrounding communities by offering information, education, resources, and supports to parents, caregivers, families, educators, and professionals.

West Central Ohio Autism Community Support Group meets the third Thursday of every month at the Lima Public Library, Meeting Room #2, 650 W Market St., Lima, OH 45801 from 5:45 – 7:15 pm. No meetings in July, August, or December. This group is committed to giving support, sharing resources, providing education and advocacy for individuals with autism, their families and professionals. The West Central Ohio Autism Community serves individuals in Allen, Auglaize, Mercer, Shelby, Van Wert and Hardin counties and is a 501c3 organization.

Social Group for Young Adults with ASD is a social/activity group for  more independent 20 and 30 Something Adults with ASD. Meets periodically throughout the year. IEP Support Group   support group

This group is about parents coming together to learn from each other and support each other in the education journey with children with special needs. This is an opportunity for your child to interact socially, get some exercise, and have fun with other children while you learn more about the ins and outs of the special education process.

For parents of children on IEPs in any district. Speakers vary.
No cost. Food and drink available. Bring the kids.

Special Needs Parent Support – Findlay, OH

Special Needs Parent Support provides a main dish for a monthly meal, childcare (respite) at meeting times, and practical gift card giveaways – often from local businesses – such as gas, restaurant, and grocery store cards. The group also features resources, event information and guest speakers who discuss ways to help parents and their children. Group leaders also encourage parents to share their stories, which boosts outward advocacy for their children.

Dates: first Monday of every month, October through May
Time: 6 to 8 pm
Families have dinner together from 6 to 6:30 pm followed by meeting time from 6:30 to 8 pm.

People First of Toledo    

This is a group for adults with disabilities and their friends. Dues for the year is now $5.00 or $55/year. This covers meals  at meetings for the entire year of 2018.

* All participants are asked to carry an ID card which lists their name & emergency contact names & phone numbers.
* So that they may serve their large group, they ask that if you require 1:1 supervision, have dietary restrictions or require supervision by staff stated on your behavior plan, that your caregiver or staff accompanies you.
* For the safety of all present, the following are not allowed: Aggressive or rude behavior, use of alcohol/drugs, carrying weapons, property damage. If you participate in these activities, you will be asked to leave the meeting.

If you ride TARPS you must contact TARPS 2 days before you need your ride.

Girls Night Out

Come for dinner, meet new friends.  We have set the calendar for the rest of the year (at the bottom).
We have chosen different days of the week and different locations to meet so we can accommodate everyone.

Creative Expressions, a grant funded program by the Lucas County Mental Health Board, will offer individuals, children and families the opportunity to create common ground through art expression.

Kaitlyn's Cottage

Cottage Connections Parent Support meeting – Defiance

The Hench Autism Studies Program at Defiance College collaborates with Kaitlyn’s Cottage to run their Cottage Connections meetings on the second Monday of every month.
Cottage Connections is a caregiver group designed to provide support and information for those who experience the joys and challenges of caring for someone with special needs. These meetings are relaxed and designed to connect caregivers with others who have similar experiences.
