AUTISM AWARENESS WEEK at Cedar Point and Kings Island – July 16 through July 22

AUTISM AWARENESS WEEK – Cedar Point and Kings Island is celebrating Autism Awareness Week with discounted tickets via this link, special sensory friendly shows, quiet rooms and areas, special handout highlighting services, and more.  Guest Services will be the central location for all information regarding Autism Week.  A portion of each ticket sold will benefit the Autism Society of Northwest Ohio.

Ohio Communication Bill Moves Forward

(From WCMH Columbus, 5/4/18) A bill that could help interactions between law enforcement and people with communication disabilities is moving forward at the Statehouse.  Click HERE for the complete story.

Today, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) updated the incidence rate of autism among eight year olds in the United States. This updated report occurs every two years. The incidence rate released in April 2016 showed that 1 out of 68 children were living with an autism diagnosis. Today’s incidence rate show the rate has increased to 1 out of 59 eight year olds.
